Manor Bar and Grille is a community restaurant dedicated to quality service and community involvement, in and out of the food industry. Since opening our doors January 8, 2007, the grille has grown to incorporate catering services, online ordering options and a reputation of commitment to our neighbors in Westmoreland County, particularly Penn Township and Irwin. Through seasonal donation boxes, the Penn Township Fundraiser and the free, annual Thanksgiving Dinner, we strive to show our appreciation by giving back to the customers who helped establish us.
A family-friendly environment that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, weekday specials that have established our reputation for quality, homemade food are sprinkled-in Monday through Sunday. Notoriously known for our breakfast, polish platters, turkey dinner and even specialty pizzas, our unique recipes and dishes are an equal rival to any larger franchises in the area. Aside from our menu, what really makes us stand-out is the support and friendship of our wonderful customers.
About the Owners
Derek Gutkowski grew up in the Southside of Pittsburgh and served four years on the U.S. Navy Submarine USS Pasadena. After attending the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, he earned his executive chef status and went on to cook at and manage various operations at Grandview Golf Club in North Braddock, Pa. where he met his wife, Megan. After nearly 10 years at Grandview, Derek and Megan struck out on their own, purchasing the building that would become Manor Bar & Grille. Derek still manages Manor Grille by coordinating menu specials, cooking and operating catering services.
Megan Kreiling Gutkowski grew up in North Braddock, Pa. and earned her associate's at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) before attaining her bachelor's degree in Communications at Point Park University. Megan believes in the spirit of community and has been an active member of Penn Township throughout her residency. Some of her past experience in local government includes formerly serving as a member of Manor Borough's council, the Manor Civil Service Commission and acting as treasurer for Manor Recreation Board. She is currently a member of Penn Township Ambulance Board and still manages and promotes the restaurant. You will often see Megan, Derek and their three children helping out every Saturday for their weekly fundraiser, the Penn Township Fundraiser.
The Penn Township Fundraiser is a weekly, Saturday hoagie sale that raises funds for culinary scholarships and educational programs in and around the Penn-Trafford area. For the 2018-2019 academic year, we raised enough funds to benefit one Penn-Trafford High School graduate, one elementary program and one middle school program! Starting June 1, 2019, our goal is to raise a total of $2,000 that will be dispersed into four separate educational endeavors!
How can you get involved? Just buy lunch! Every Saturday, Manor Grille sells freshly made Italian and turkey Swiss hoagies for just $6 each! Fifty cents goes toward our fundraising efforts and hoagies are available from 10 a.m. until supplies last!
